I am sure you all know and love Supermarket Sarah and her amazeballs wall installations (above). And I'm so thrilled to announce that the Hello Sandwich Gift Wrapping Zine is now stocked in the Supermarket Sarah shop at SELFRIDGES! Wa!

Tokyo Zine Picnic

The Zine Picnic in Yoyogi Koen has been moved to Monday because of this Tokyo rain!

[Zine Picnic] is a picnic for self-publishing lovers.
Let’s relax and have a great time gathering, sharing and exchanging zines with a cup of coffee and homemade sweets under the blue sky.Your best zines and dishes are most welcome!We recommend you to bring your own cup and leisure seat.Of course, you can just drop by to say hello to us.

Hello Sandwich in Japanese 'GIRLS ZINE' book!

Sandwiches! Weee I am finally allowed to announce that I was lucky enough to be one of four zine makers interviewed in this brand new Japanese Girls Zine book on sale September 27th!

Girls Zine is published by amazing Japanese book publishers BNN. BNN was founded in Tokyo in 1985 and since then they have published more than a thousand books and magazines specialising in graphic design. I was so thrilled when they asked me to be part of this project because I had been collecting many of their design, craft and pattern books for years! I bought this inspiring 'Handmade Graphics' book just a few days before I was asked to be in the Girls Zine book! Actually when I received the email I was jumping up and down around my mini-me apartment!

Zines are reasonably new here in Tokyo, and Girls Zine is the first Japanese book exploring this exciting medium. I am yet to receive my advance copies of the book but I hear that book includes interviews with zine stockists and zine creators as well as other interesting information about the world of zines!

The photoshoot at my apartment was such fun and the editorial team are perhaps the most lovely people you will ever meet. I felt terrible though because I didn't have four spare pairs of guest slippers for the team to wear inside my apartment!

Hello Sandwich in Yen Magazine!

Hello Sandwiches!

The lovely girls over at Yen Magazine were nice enough to include Hello Sandwich in their current issue which is on sale today! The Hello Sandwich page lists some of my favourite things - mostly Japanese not surprisingly! The issue focuses on Photography and is jam packed with amazing content...A super cute trend page on Dutch style fashion, a very pretty 'i want candy' fashion shoot, and the issue also features some beautiful photography from my gorgeous friend Melanie Watkins. You won't want to miss this issue! Thank you lovely Yen Girls!!!

In other news the TVC I have been shooting is almost over and I can't wait to head back to Tokyo this Sunday and prepare for the Tokyo Art Book Fair next weekend! If you are in Tokyo please come along! Mogu and I will be at the Arts Chiyoda exhibition.

Tokyo Art Book Fair at Vacant

I'm excited that my first creative project in Tokyo will be the Tokyo Art Book Fair!

I will be making my new Tokyo Art + Collage Scrapbook Zine as soon as I arrive in Tokyo in 12 days and launching it at the Tokyo Art Book Fair! The Tokyo Art Book Fair will be taking place at Vacant (listed in the Hello Sandwich Tokyo Guide). Hope you can come along!
