Zine lovers in Tokyo will absolutely LOVE Shibuya's Only Free Paper store! It's a mini-me shop situated on Cat street where you can pick up many Japanese 'free papers'. They also have an archive of each of the free papers so you can take a seat on the bench and relax looking over the collection. Hiki-chan and I spent a lovely rainy afternoon there today getting inspiration for our MCA zine fair zines!

Which brings me to my other exciting zine news! Hello Sandwich will have a table at the MCA zine fair ! If you are in Sydney on the 22nd May, please pop in and look out for the Hello Sandwich Tokyo table which will also showcase some zines from Hello Sandwich Tokyo based zine making friends Hiki-chan, polkaros, Ben Davis , BOM, Sunshine to you, Mark Drew and lovely Yumi Takahashi who I shared a MCA zine fair table with last year. A super thank you to Miss Beatrice for minding our booth :)

I made a trip to Hondarake bookstore to stock up on Japanese magazines. Have you been there? It's Sydney's best answer to second hand Japanese books.  Please check out the Hondarake blog or order online at the Online Hondarake shop. Go on, you know you want to pick up a back issue of  Tennen Seikatsu or yet another Nigongo book!

Sunday 12:00-18:00

And if you order online its just $12.60 to ship up to 3kg anywhere in Australia!

P.S. I forgot to tell you...last week the lovely Penelope from Hey Lovely blog sent me these Japanese children's books that she was going to donate to the Op-shop! How super sweet! Arigatou Penelope! Be sure to check out her blog - it's lovely. And you can also check out some cute items on Penelope's Etsy.

I Love Vintage

I love vintage. Vintage clothing and Vintage Homewares. So I was delighted yesterday when my dear friend Eloise took me to L'ermitage vintage clothing shop in Glebe. A lovely collection of cheap and cheerful finds jam packed into a teeny weeny store on Glebe Point Road. (It turns out Clipper Cafe is not the only good thing about Glebe). I especially love the little retro kitchenette on show in the hidden away back room.

Eloise bought this delightful swing coat for a sunny 45AUD. Don't you love the tag! I also spied a tag of the name of 'Honky Tonk'! Cute!

And just down the road at The Salvation Army I picked up a flirty floral frock complete with lace peter pan collar (see top) for 10AUD. Minus the shoulder pads and about 30cm off the hem and I will have myself my new favourite dress! Yay! Tanoshiminishiteimasu!

L'ermitage is at 243 Glebe Point Road, Glebe. Fancy a chat? Call on +612 9660 5958
Do pop on over - and be sure to stop in to Clipper Cafe on your way for a coffee too!
And if you need some vintage inspiration look no further than the lovely Fashion Forestry or young little Tavi.

Well, I'm off now to alter my frock. Happy Sunday sweet peas.

Clipper Cafe

Today my friend Elo and I went to Clipper Cafe. And we loved it!
It's not often that I get so excited about things in Sydney anymore...I'm always dreaming about more exciting things in Tokyo. But Clipper cafe changed that! If you are in Sydney and in need of a cafe, don't look any further than Clipper Cafe in Glebe.

Clipper Cafe has an uber cool vibe, super friendly staff, cheap and cheerful prices and delicious food and coffee! What more could you possibly want?

In fact Clipper Cafe reminded me of a super cute cafe I went to in Taipei last year which was tucked away in a little back alley with minimal sinage and oversized windows. Some other favourite cafes are Casual Poet Coffee Shop in Singapore, Cinq cafe in Tokyo, Kate Coffee in Tokyo and Zozoi Cafe in Tokyo.

For more information about Clipper Cafe cafe please visit Lee Tran Lam's super review and TwoThousand's review. Though do note that TwoThousand have got the opening hours muddled.

Clipper Cafe is opened 7 days a week from 6am-6pm. Easy to remember right!?

Clipper Cafe, 16 Glebe Point Road, Glebe, Sydney.

Enjoy lovelies! I might see you there?
